Personal Bio:

Xuezheng Qin is professor and department chair of economics at Peking University (PKU), director of PKU Research Center for Market Economy, and deputy dean of PKU Institute for Global Health and Development. His research interests include health economics, labor economics, and applied econometrics. Professor Qin's research is funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Education of China, and International Development Research Center in Canada. He has published more than 80 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Comparative Economics, Health Economics, Economic Development & Cultural Change, and China Economic Review. He is also the author of several books, including Economic Analysis of Mental Health in China, Intergenerational Human Capital Transmission and Its Impact on Economic Growth, and Applied Econometrics with Eviews and SAS Examples. Professor Qin serves as chief editor for Journal of Applied Economics and Policy Studies, associate editor for China & World Economy, and guest editor / editorial board member for several academic journals. He was elected as the president of China Labor Economist Forum and a Distinguished Professor of Beijing Higher Education, and has gained other recognitions for his research, teaching and social services.

Background:

The International Conference on Applied Economics and Policy Studies Symposium, which is organized by the Peking University Research Center for Market Economy (RCME), aims to foster an inter-disciplinary exchange of knowledge related to labor market, human capital, digital economy and market policy. Sessions will include contributed papers, keynote presentations and panel discussions. Scholars (including doctoral students) from all disciplines and practitioners interested in the economic, managerial, policy aspects of labor and digital market are all encouraged to submit and/or to attend.

Goal/Rationale:

As the importance of human capital becomes increasingly apparent, the Market Policy and the International Conference on Applied Economics and Policy Studies Symposium, aims to foster an inter-disciplinary exchange of knowledge related to labor market, health economics, digital economic and so on. The symposium will invite researchers from all over the world to discuss the latest research results and cutting-edge topics in the field of labor economics, market policy and human capital. We aim to provide a platform for excellent young scholars and PhD students to communicate and discuss the recent development in the above areas. We hope to provide opportunities for the attendees to exchange research ideas and share new knowledge.

Submission

Prospective authors are kindly invited to submit full papers that include title, abstract, introduction, tables, figures, conclusion and references. It is unnecessary to submit an abstract in advance. The deadline for general submission is July 12, 2025.

Each paper should be no less than 4 pages. One regular registration can cover a paper of 6 pages, and additional pages will be charged. Please format your paper well according to the conference template below before submission.

Publication

Accepted papers will be published inAdvances in Economics, Management and Political Sciences (AEMPS) (Print ISSN: 2754-1169) and will be submitted to Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), Crossref, CNKI, Portico, Google Scholar and other databases for indexing. The situation may be affected by factors among databases like processing time, workflow, policy, etc.
